West Side WIC Alliance WIC CIAO Project
Home / West Side WIC Alliance WIC CIAO Project
The West Side WIC Alliance’s project aims to strengthen WIC on Chicago’s West Side by leveraging existing infrastructure and WIC CBO partnerships to reach eligible families.
The project will focus on increasing WIC awareness, enhancing retention and boosting participation within the priority population. Innovative strategies employed by the project include developing and implementing a WIC-focused training for professionals; establishing an online WIC Clinic and grocer referral process; and developing a communications framework for healthcare partners, CBOs, WIC Clinics and grocers. Lessons learned will be applicable to other institutions seeking to implement comprehensive WIC/CBO/Healthcare partnerships.
