On November 2, 2023, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) held a WIC CIAO subgrant kickoff celebration at the Programs for Parents office in Newark, New Jersey. At the event, Dr. Patty Bennett, regional administrator, U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service (USDA FNS), Mid-Atlantic Region, provided remarks congratulating Rutgers New Jersey Medical School on receiving the grant and emphasized the importance of the WIC program and providing access to WIC services through innovative outreach efforts. Also in attendance were Christine Berberich, WIC branch chief, USDA FNS, Mid-Atlantic Region, as well as Susan Stephenson-Martin, director of Rutgers NJMS WIC, FRAC Director of Nutrition Policy and Early Childhood Programs Geri Henchy, and WIC CIAO Project Manager Sally Mancini.
